"Best I have seen in my 30 years in the building industry."

"Really interesting to visit the shop floor & understand the process from design to installation."

Have you noticed that architectural projects are increasingly being delivered using Design For Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) methodology such as prefabricated framing, bathroom pods, and modular or panelised elements, in sectors such as Education, Health, Aged Care, Multi-Residential and Infrastructure?

DFMA is being implemented as a way to speed up critical path milestones and offer cost savings without compromising quality. Reasons for this include tighter project delivery time frames; increased site restrictions, and the need to keep existing sites operational; limited availability of skilled trades due to site location and/or industry demand; and increased requirement for quality control and delivery certainty.

Perhaps you have wanted to explore DFMA approaches for your own project but have struggled with the procurement process, or limited exposure to DFMA by yourself, your client, consultants or builder?

Drawing on over 16 years of industry experience delivering successful DFMA projects, this workshop and facility tour led by Austruss Managing Director, Andrew Fowler, will help you to:

  • understand Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) as a methodology

  • understand processes involved from design to installation

  • recognise opportunities to utilise DFMA elements in projects of different scales and contexts

  • anticipate potential DFMA project delivery issues

  • identify how to apply DFMA methodology to their your own projects

Where is it??? If you are coming from Sydney, once you've taken the Southern Highlands exit off the Hume Highway, there is a Bunnings on the left shortly after. Austruss is just a bit further along on the other side of the road - turn right at the first set of lights. It's about 1.5 hours from central Sydney, and 2 hours from Canberra. (We have staff who commute daily from Sydney, Wollongong and Goulburn.)

Places are limited to provide significant interaction for all participants.
