Our health sector experience is extensive. We’ve built everything from hospitals (both public and private sector) to mental health facilities and healthcare centres

Our work extends from projects in the inner city with difficult access, to extensions to existing buildings and regional facilities.

One of our most significant health projects was the COVID 19 Surge Centre facility in Canberra. Built as an emergency hospital facility for the pandemic response, this went from initial sketch to a fully operational facility in just 36 days. This timeframe and delivery were made possible due to our design approach, creating a kit of parts and building the bulk of the building in our factory on 24/7 shifts.

How do you go from initial sketch to a fully functioning hospital facility in just 36 days? Our team rose to the challenge, redesigning the structure as a giant kit of parts which was built within our facilities and transported to site to be erected in record time. The magic is that this was also designed for disassembly at end of use.

How do you build and clad another level on top of an operational health facility without disturbing the staff and patients? DfMAAustruss‘ scope for Erilyan included prefabricated facade panels to the top level to match existing facade panels and top level prefabricated wall and roof framing to sit on an existing roof slab.
